We’ve been at No. 9 B Ragvikas Society on North Main Road for a good while now. Koregaon Park is a busy place, but our spot is easy to find if you're looking for stone. It’s mostly just us here moving slabs and talking to folks who come by. We get a lot of dust, naturally, since it’s a stone yard. Dealing with heavy granite and marble all day keeps us on our toes. Sometimes the rain gets in the way of loading the trucks, but that’s just how it goes in this part of town. People usually drop in because they’re doing up a kitchen or a floor and they want to see the patterns in person. We don’t have a fancy showroom with air conditioning or anything like that. It’s just the warehouse and the stone. We try to keep things organized, though it’s hard when new shipments come in and take up all the floor space. If you walk down North Main Road, you’ll see our gate. We usually have the gates open by nine in the morning. My cousin handles the phone while I’m out back with the guys. It’s noisy work, cutting and polishing, but it’s what we do. We’ve seen the neighborhood change a lot over the years, but the stone business stays pretty much the same. You pick a piece you like, we cut it to size, and it gets sent out. Simple as that. No big fuss. Just hard work and heavy lifting.
