Our polytechnic is situated out in Lohogaon, right by the White Gate at Sr. No. 35/4. It is a fairly large campus with several different buildings for the various departments we have here. When you walk around, you can hear the sounds of machines running in the workshops or teachers talking in the classrooms. It’s a place where students are busy learning practical skills, so there is always a lot of movement between the labs and the lecture halls. The grounds are kept simple, with some trees providing shade during the hotter months. We have a lot of old equipment that has seen many years of use, but it still works for teaching the basics. The hallways are usually crowded during the breaks between classes, with students sitting on the steps or chatting near the main gate. It feels like a very grounded environment, not at all like those high-end private colleges. Everything here is functional and intended for hands-on work. We spend a lot of time maintaining the facilities and making sure the tools are ready for the next group of students. The office is usually busy with paperwork and people asking about schedules. It’s a bit of a trek to get out here from the main part of the city, but once you are here, it’s a focused place to be. We just try to keep things running smoothly every day without making a big fuss.
