Jain Marble Industries

Our workshop is at Plot No. 35/2 in the Ambegaon Marble Market. It’s a handy location because we are so close to the Pune Mumbai Highway. You can hear the traffic humming in the distance all day long. We’ve got a lot of stone slabs sitting around the lot, waiting for the right project. The ground is always a bit white from the marble dust, no matter how much we sweep it. We spend our hours cutting, polishing, and moving heavy pieces of rock. It’s a tough job on the back, but we are used to it by now. We aren't into big sales pitches or trying to look more important than we are. We are just a group of workers who know a lot about marble. Most of the people who come to see us are contractors or families building their first homes. We show them what we have, talk about the price, and get to work. There’s no polished showroom with bright lights here. Just the raw material and the tools we use to shape it. Sometimes the machines break down and we have to spend the afternoon fixing them instead of cutting stone. That’s just how it goes in a place like this. We’ve been in the Ambegaon market for a while and we plan to stay. It’s honest, hard work and we’re proud of that.
