Indira Gandhi Bhartiya Mahila Vikas Ssk Ltd. is located out at S. No. 146 in Loni Kalbhor, right in the Kadam Wasti area. It’s a bit away from the main city buzz, which gives us a different kind of environment to work in. This is a place where local women come together to get things done. We don't have a tall glass building or a receptionist. Instead, we have a practical space where people meet and work on different projects. The road to Kadam Wasti can be a bit dusty depending on the season, but everyone knows the way. We spend a lot of time talking to the members and figuring out how to keep things moving forward. It’s very much a community effort here. We deal with the day-to-day paperwork and the practical needs of the people who are part of the society. Some days are loud with meetings and other days are quiet with just a few of us finishing up the books. We aren't trying to be a big corporation; we are just a local group trying to be useful in our own neighborhood. The work isn't always easy, and there is always something that needs fixing or a problem that needs a talk, but we just take it one day at a time. It’s about the people living around here and the small steps we take every week to keep the society running for everyone involved.
