Indian Institute Of Science Education And Research (Iiser)

We are located on Dr. Homi Bhabha Road in the Pashan area of Pune. This place is pretty big, and there is always a lot going on with the science stuff. People come here from all over to work in the labs or attend the lectures at IISER. It’s a bit of a trek if you’re coming from the main city center, but the Pashan area is a bit more open and has more trees. You see a lot of students and researchers walking around with their bags, usually looking like they haven't slept enough because they were up late working on some project. The labs have a lot of equipment that we have to keep track of, which is a full-time job on its own. It isn't a typical office environment; it feels more like a small town where everyone is focused on their own specific niche of science. We have various buildings spread out across the campus, so you end up doing a lot of walking during the day along Dr. Homi Bhabha Road. The security at the gate is fairly strict about who comes in, which makes sense given what goes on inside. It’s a busy atmosphere, but also kind of quiet in a weird way because people are usually tucked away in their workspaces. We just try to keep the facilities running smoothly so the researchers can do what they need to do without things breaking down or the power failing.
