About I Am Working As A Visiting Professor – Education in Pune
I’m currently working as a visiting professor, which means I’m always moving between different colleges and departments around Pune. My home base is at Flat No A 3, Padma Park, which is situated right behind the Padmawati Temple in Sahakarnagar No 1. It’s a really peaceful part of the city, especially being so close to the temple, though it gets quite crowded during festivals. Being a visiting professor in Maharashtra is quite a busy life. I don’t have a single office where I sit all day; instead, I’m usually carrying a bag full of notes and books, heading to whichever campus needs me for a lecture. I spend a lot of time on my scooter, navigating Pune’s streets to make it to my classes on time. When I’m at home in Sahakarnagar, I’m usually grading papers or preparing my next set of slides for the students. It’s a lot of work and sometimes the pay isn't as steady as a permanent position, but I enjoy the variety of students I get to meet. The area around Padma Park is nice for a walk in the evening when I need to clear my head after a long day of teaching. It’s a very academic sort of life, always thinking about the next subject or how to explain a difficult concept to a room full of tired students. It’s just what I do, and I've gotten quite used to this nomadic way of teaching over the years.
