Gurukrupa Marble

Being out here at Gurukrupa Marble on the Pune-Nashik Highway means we see a lot of trucks going back and forth all day long. Our spot is at 506 Boratewasti, right in Moshi. It gets quite noisy with the highway traffic, but that’s just how it is for a business like ours. We have been handling marble for a long time now. It’s heavy, dusty work that keeps us busy from morning till night. Most people who stop by are from around the area or are driving through and noticed the slabs lined up. We don't have any big signs or anything too flashy. It’s just us and the stone. Sometimes the weather in Moshi gets really dry, and the dust from the highway mixes with the stone dust, making everything a bit grey by the afternoon. We spend a lot of our time just organizing the yard so people can actually see what’s available. It takes a bit of muscle to move these pieces around, and we've all got the backaches to prove it. My family has been doing this for a bit, and we just like the honest work of it. We don't try to push anyone into buying anything they don't need. If they like a piece of marble, they take it. That’s about as complicated as it gets for us here on the highway. We just stay open until the sun goes down and then do it all again tomorrow morning when the trucks start up.
