Gupta Plast & Engineering

Down at Gate No. 170 in Ganesh Nagar, things stay pretty busy. That is where we have Gupta Plast & Engineering set up. Talawade is full of shops like ours, so there is always the sound of trucks and machinery in the air. We have been working out of this space for quite a while now. The floor is usually covered in little bits of plastic shavings by the end of the shift. We try to sweep up every night, but it’s a never-ending job. The machines we use for the engineering work are old but they still run fine if you know how to handle them. My cousin helps out with the books, though he’s usually late in the mornings because of the traffic near the main road. We don’t have an air conditioner, so the big pedestal fans are always blowing. It gets sweaty in the summer months, but nobody complains much. We just drink a lot of water and keep going. Most of our tools have been here as long as I have. We don’t do anything too fancy, just the practical stuff people need. Sometimes we have to stay late to finish a batch if the power goes out during the day, which happens more than we’d like. It is just a normal workshop where we work hard and try to do things right.
