MIDC Bhosari is a pretty huge industrial area, and we are located in T Block at T-107. General Industrial Controls has been part of this landscape for quite some time now. If you drive through the gates, you’ll see plenty of other factories, but we’ve tried to make our little corner work well. Inside, it’s a mix of assembly lines and testing stations. We deal with a lot of timers and switches and things that make other machines work. It’s precise work, so it stays fairly quiet compared to a heavy metal shop, but there’s still the hum of the electronics and the cooling fans. The lighting is bright because we need to see the small components we’re working with. Sometimes the orders pile up and we have to work a bit faster to keep the shipping schedule on track. We aren't really into the whole corporate culture thing; we just have a job to do. The break room is small, and the tea is usually too sweet, but it gets us through the afternoon. People who work here mostly live nearby in the Bhosari area, so there’s a local feel to the place even though the name sounds a bit formal. We don't have a list of values on the wall. We just make sure the stuff we build works the way it’s supposed to. If a part fails, we look into it and fix the process. That’s really all there is to it.
