Foundry Friends

Kothrud is a busy part of Pune, and we’re right near the Shakuntal area. Being opposite the Kothrud bus stand makes it easy for people to find us, though the traffic there is always a bit of a mess. Our place, Foundry Friends, is exactly what it sounds like. We deal with metal casting and foundry related jobs. It’s hot work, especially in the summer months when the furnaces are going. We aren't a massive factory, just a local setup where we know our customers by name. Most of the people who come to us are looking for specific parts that they can't get anywhere else. We spend a lot of time on molds and making sure the metal pours right. There’s a lot of sand and soot around, so don’t come in wearing your best clothes. It’s a practical business. We’ve been here long enough that the bus drivers know the building. The routine is pretty much the same every day. We open up, check the orders, heat things up, and get to work. We don't spend money on shiny signs or big ads. The work speaks for itself when a casting comes out clean. If something goes wrong, we just fix it and try again. That’s how you learn this business. It's a bit of a traditional way of doing things, but it works for us and the people we serve.
