Deshmukh Academy

Deshmukh Academy is based out of my apartment, which is Flat No 8 in Ganesh Hights. We are located at Sr No 20 1 in Punyai Nagar. If you know where the KK Market is in Dhankawdi, we are very close to that. It’s a busy part of Pune, but once you get inside the building, it’s usually quiet enough to focus. I started this because I saw a lot of kids in the neighborhood struggling with their schoolwork. It’s not a big school with a campus; it’s just a few rooms where we have benches and whiteboards set up. My sister helps me teach the younger kids while I handle the older ones. We don’t have fancy software or high-tech gadgets. It’s just us, the books, and a lot of practice problems. Sometimes the flat gets a bit crowded when a big exam is coming up, and we have to bring in extra chairs from the kitchen. The parents around here seem to like that we are local. They can just drop their kids off on their way to the market. We aren't trying to build an empire or anything like that. We just want the students who come here to understand their lessons better than they did when they walked in. It’s rewarding when someone finally gets a difficult concept. We’ve been here at Ganesh Hights for several years and the neighbors are used to the sound of kids reciting math tables.
