Nana Peth is a busy place, and being right on the Pune Satara Road means there is never a dull moment. Our shop, Deepak Agencies, is at number 223, which is quite easy to find if you know where the Ram Mandi is. Most of the time, the street is crowded with trucks and people moving goods back and forth. We spend our days managing stock and making sure things are where they need to be. It gets pretty loud with the traffic outside, but you get used to it after a few weeks. The office isn't anything special to look at, just a practical space with a lot of shelves and a couple of desks that have seen better days. We started here because the location made sense for a business like ours. Every morning starts with opening the shutters and checking what arrived overnight. Sometimes the deliveries are late, and that throws the whole schedule off, but that’s just how it is in Nana Peth. We see a lot of the same faces every week, mostly other local traders and regulars who know the shortcuts around Ram Mandi. It’s a lot of manual work, counting items and keeping track of orders on paper. We don't use much fancy technology here, just what's necessary to keep things moving. By the time evening rolls around, everyone is tired, but the work is done and we can head home to our families.
