Dance Katta

Dance Katta is located out on Khondhwa Kishanpura Road in the Dhakoli area of Zirakpur. We didn’t start this to be some big academy; it was more about having a place where people could just move and forget about work for an hour. The space is pretty basic with mirrors on the walls and a floor that we’ve had to fix a few times because of all the jumping around. You can usually hear the music from down the street when the evening classes are going on. We get all sorts coming in, from little kids who can’t stand still to older folks who just want to stay active. It gets pretty sweaty in here during the summer months, but the fans help a bit. We don't do those formal competitions you see on TV all the time. Mostly, we just practice routines and have a laugh when someone trips over their own feet. The building isn’t the newest in Zirakpur 6, but it’s got a good vibe once the lights are on and the speakers are plugged in. Some days it’s a bit chaotic with bags and shoes everywhere near the door. We don't spend much time on decorations or fancy signs. If you find the road, you find us. It’s just a spot for the community to come together, dance a bit, and go home feeling a little lighter than when they walked in.
