Cygnet Public School & Junior College

Cygnet Public School & Junior College is tucked away on Handewadi Road in Hadapsar. If you know Pune, you know how busy the roads can get around here, especially near Survey No 58. We’ve got a mix of ages on the grounds, from the little ones starting out to the older students in the junior college. It makes for an interesting day because there’s always something different happening depending on which floor you’re on. The building itself is pretty functional. We don’t go in for anything overly decorative or flashy. It’s more about having enough desks and making sure the labs are ready for the older kids to use. The teachers are usually running from one class to the next, trying to keep up with the schedule. Lunchtimes are probably the loudest part of the day, with students hanging out in the corridors or finding a spot to eat their tiffins. We’ve seen a lot of changes in Hadapsar over the years, but the school stays pretty much the same. We just focus on the classes and getting the exams done. It’s a busy environment and things can get a bit hectic during the monsoon when the roads get muddy, but we manage. Everyone just does their bit to keep the place running. It’s a practical sort of place where the main goal is just to get the students through their studies without too much fuss.
