Sanskruti Chicken & Goat Farm

Our farm is out in Village Kalus, which is near Chakan. It’s a different world out here compared to the city. We have a lot of space for the chickens and the goats to move around. Most of our day is spent outdoors, tending to the animals and making sure they are fed and have water. It’s a lot of physical labor, starting before the sun even comes up. The smell of the farm is something you get used to quickly. We don't have a formal office or anything like that. We just have the sheds for the livestock and some storage for the feed. People from the village and nearby Chakan come by when they need something. We keep things very basic. There’s no marketing team or fancy website for Sanskruti Chicken & Goat Farm. It’s just us working the land and taking care of the animals. Sometimes the weather makes things difficult, like when it rains heavily and the ground gets all muddy. We just put on our boots and keep going. The goats can be a bit stubborn sometimes, which makes for some long afternoons. It’s a quiet life for the most part, away from the traffic and the noise of the main roads. We focus on the health of our animals and keeping the farm running smoothly. It’s honest work and we’ve been doing it this way for years in Kalus. We usually wrap things up once the sun starts to go down and the animals settle for the night.
