Bharat Meat Shop

Bharat Meat Shop is over in Warje Malwadi, specifically at Motilal Nagar. It’s a local spot that’s been around for a while. The shop is small and we’ve got the usual tools of the trade—heavy wooden blocks and sharp knives. It’s hard work, mostly because you’re on your feet all day and the work is physically demanding. We start early, usually while it’s still dark outside, to get the stock in and sorted. People in Motilal Nagar know us well, and we know most of them too. We don’t have a marketing team or anything like that; word of mouth is how people find us. The shop floor is always getting swept because we try to keep it as clean as we can, even when it’s busy. Sundays are definitely our craziest days, with people lining up early. We don’t have any fancy displays, just the meat on the hooks and the scale on the counter. Sometimes we run out of things earlier than expected, which can be a bit of a headache, but that’s how it goes sometimes. It’s a straightforward business, no frills or extras. We just focus on the cutting and making sure everyone gets their order right. Warje Malwadi is a good place to be, and we’re glad to be part of the community here. It’s just us, doing what we do every single day.
