Balaji Marble

Balaji Marble is located right near the Pune-Mumbai Highway in Vadgaon Budruk. Specifically, we're in Ambegaon village, near Vishnupuram Colony. It's a busy stretch of road with lots of trucks passing by. Our yard is full of stone slabs. There’s white marble, some darker pieces, and a lot of dust from the cutting. It’s heavy work, moving these pieces around. We use old machinery and a lot of manual labor to get things ready for customers. People stop their cars when they see the slabs lined up. It isn't a showroom with air conditioning or anything like that. It’s an outdoor space where the sun hits the stone all day. We wear boots because the ground is always wet or covered in stone scraps. Sometimes it's hard to hear each other over the highway noise, but you get used to it after a week or so. We deal with builders and people just fixing up their own houses. We show them what we have, they pick a piece, and we figure out the delivery. It’s straightforward. No sales pitches, just the stone and the price. We’ve been at this spot for quite some time now. The neighbors know us. It’s a gritty job, but there's a certain rhythm to it that feels right. The slabs are heavy, and my back usually aches by evening. We just keep stacking them up and cutting them down. It is what it is.
