Avinash General Stores

You can find Avinash General Stores up on the 3rd floor on 80 Feet Road. It’s a bit of an unusual spot for a store like ours, being at 41/1 Vadgoensheri. Most people expect us to be on the ground floor, but we’ve made it work up here. We get a decent amount of light through the windows, which is nice compared to some of the cramped shops downstairs. We carry the usual stuff you’d expect—stationery, some household items, and snacks. Sometimes the lift in the building is temperamental, so people have to take the stairs, which we know is a bit of a climb. We’ve been in Vadgoensheri for a while and have seen the road get busier and busier over the years. The traffic on 80 Feet Road is constant. Inside the shop, things are a bit cluttered. We have boxes stacked up because we don't have a separate storeroom. It’s a bit of a squeeze when we get more than three people in here at once. We don't have any fancy displays or anything. It's just shelves and us behind the counter. We spend a lot of time organizing the small items like pens and lighters. It’s a quiet life up on the third floor. We know our regulars and they know where to find us. It’s just a simple business, nothing more than that. We just open up every day and wait for the bell on the door to ring.
