We’ve been here at A-48 in the Pimpri MIDC for a long time now. It’s a busy industrial area, so it gets pretty loud and dusty most days, but that is just how things are around here. We spend most of our time on the shop floor, dealing with the machines and making sure the metal parts come out right. There isn't much air conditioning in the workshop, so the summers get quite hot inside the shed. Our team is mostly guys from the local neighborhood who know their way around a lathe and a welding torch. We don't have a fancy lobby or a receptionist; usually, if you walk in, you’ll just see someone in overalls covered in a bit of grease. It’s hard work, and sometimes the machines act up, which pushes our schedule back, but we just stay late to get it finished. The tea stall around the corner is where we usually take our breaks to get away from the noise for a few minutes. We just focus on the drawings the customers give us and try to cut the steel as accurately as we can. It’s not a glamorous business, but it keeps us busy and pays the bills. Sometimes the power goes out in the afternoon, and everything goes quiet for a bit, which is actually kind of nice for a change. Then the generator kicks in, and we get back to it until the sun goes down.
