You can find the Asian Institute Of Technical & Vocational Educatin on the second floor of the building in Kalagram Society. We are located right to the left of Bhusari Colony on Poud Road in Kothrud. It is a busy part of town so there is always the sound of traffic coming through the windows. The stairs up to our office are a bit narrow, and we have a small sign outside so people do not miss the entrance. Inside, we have set up several rooms with tables and chairs for the different technical classes. It is not a very large space, but we have made use of every corner for the equipment and tools the students need to practice with. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but for now, they are covered with diagrams and schedules. We spend a lot of time organizing the workshop area because things tend to get messy when people are working on practical tasks. Most of us who work here live nearby in Pune, so we know the local area well. We usually open the shutters early in the morning to let the air in before it gets too hot in the afternoon. It is a practical environment where people come to learn a trade, and we try to keep things running as smoothly as we can despite the occasional power cut or the noise from the busy road downstairs.
