Anushka Polyclinic

Anushka Polyclinic is located at 2065 Gangavartan on Tilak Road in Sadashiv Peth. If you know Pune, you know this area is always full of activity. We are right in the middle of it all. The polyclinic has several different rooms because we have different types of checkups happening here. I work at the main counter and it’s a bit of a juggle sometimes with the phone ringing and people walking in off Tilak Road. The building is an older one, typical for Sadashiv Peth, so it has that lived-in feel. The stairs are a bit steep, so I tell people to take their time coming up. We have a small balcony where I sometimes stand to get a bit of air between appointments. It gets quite hot in the summer, but we have enough fans to keep it bearable. I’ve lived in Pune my whole life, so I like working in such a traditional neighborhood. Most of our visitors are regulars who have been coming to this spot for years. The waiting room isn't very big, so it feels crowded even when there are just four or five people. I keep a stack of old magazines on the corner table, mostly about cars or cooking. It’s a simple, functional polyclinic. We don't have any flashy signs, just a small one out front that lets people know we are here. It’s a steady, busy life for everyone at the clinic.
