Our workshop is at 17/4 in Chinchwad, specifically at the Nariman Point area behind the Ranmala Hotel. It’s a gritty part of town where there is a lot of metalwork and construction going on. You can hear the sound of welding and cutting from our place all day long. It’s hot and dusty inside, especially during the summer months. We have a few machines and a big workbench where most of the work happens. It’s not a place for people wearing nice clothes because you’re bound to get some grease or soot on you. We’ve been in this spot behind the hotel for several years now. Most of our customers are local builders or people who need something specific made for their homes. We don't have a receptionist or a lobby. If you come by, you’ll probably find us in the back with our masks on. We keep the raw materials stacked against the wall and try to keep the scrap metal in one corner. It’s a lot of manual labor and long hours standing on the concrete floor. Sometimes we have to work late to finish a job on time. We usually have a tea break around four o’clock to catch our breath. It’s simple, honest work that keeps us busy from morning till night. We like the Chinchwad area because it’s where all the making happens. We make sure to sweep the floor every evening before we lock up the shutters.
