Am Industries

Our place, Am Industries, is located out in Chakan at Gate No-51. It’s a pretty busy industrial area, especially being so close to the HP Chakan Petrol Depot. Having the CNG pump right there means there is always a line of trucks and cars nearby, so the noise is constant. The air smells like fuel and dust most of the time, but that’s just Chakan for you. Inside our gates, it’s all about the production work. We don’t have any fancy receptionists or glass-walled offices. It’s mostly just the sound of the equipment and people moving things around. We get a lot of dust blowing in from the main road, so we are always cleaning off the desks and the machines. It’s a practical setup meant for getting work done rather than looking good for photos. We have our coffee breaks near the front gate and watch the tankers go in and out of the depot. It’s a rough and ready kind of life here. We don't put on any acts when people come to visit; we just show them what we are working on. Most of us have been here long enough that the chaos of the petrol pump traffic doesn't even bother us anymore. We just keep the machines running and handle the daily logistics of the shop without making too much of a big deal about it.
