Allied Earthmovers

Allied Earthmovers is out at number 57 in Ambegaon Khurd, which is part of the Haveli taluka. It’s a bit of a trek from the main city, but this is where there’s enough space for the kind of equipment we handle. We’ve got a big yard where we keep the loaders and excavators. It’s mostly dirt and gravel underfoot, so we don’t bother with fancy shoes. Most of our day is spent outside or in the shed where we do repairs and maintenance. It’s honest, heavy work and things get greasy pretty fast. We’re usually dealing with local contractors who need a machine for a road project or some foundation work. We’ve been here for quite a while, and the neighborhood has seen a lot of growth lately, which keeps us busy. The office is just a small cabin on the edge of the yard where we keep the keys and the logbooks. It’s nothing special, just a place to sit out of the sun for a minute and have some water. We don’t have any big slogans or anything. We just make sure the machines are running right and that they get to the sites when people ask for them. Sometimes the weather makes it tough to work outside, but we just wait for the rain to stop and get back to it. It’s a steady life and we like the mechanical side of things, just fixing stuff and seeing it go back to work for another long day.
