We spend most of our time here at Paud Lic Colony 25/26 moving gas cylinders around. It’s heavy work and the truck arrives early every morning. Some days are busier than others, especially when everyone realizes they are out of gas at the same time. We try to keep the records straight but sometimes the paperwork piles up on the desk. People come in to ask about their bookings or just to see when the delivery man is coming by their street. It’s mostly just us making sure the stove stays lit for the neighborhood. The shop isn't fancy, just a desk and some space for the books. We've been at this spot for a while now. Some folks have been coming to us since we first opened up. We know most of the faces in the colony by now. If the phone rings, someone usually picks it up, but if we're out back with the tanks, it might take a minute. That’s just how it goes here. We deal with the registrations and the refills every single day. It’s a lot of lifting and checking numbers. The weather doesn't really stop us because people need to cook. We just keep the cylinders moving and hope the traffic isn't too bad for the delivery boys. It's regular work but it's important for the kitchens around here. We just want to make sure everyone gets their gas on time without too much trouble. It is what we do.
