Out in Bhorwadi, things move a bit slower than in Pune city. We are at G.No.1235, dealing with dry fruits and nuts. It’s a quiet spot near Kolvihere. The building is just a functional warehouse. We spend a lot of time sorting through almonds and cashews. Sometimes the batches we get are a bit dusty, so we have to clean them up. It’s a lot of sitting and looking at small things. My back gets stiff after a few hours. We don't have a big marketing team or anyone in suits. It’s mostly just us and a few local workers from the village. In the afternoons, you can hear the birds outside because there isn't much traffic. When the harvest season starts, we get very busy. The stacks of crates go almost to the ceiling. We have to be careful about the moisture in the air. If it rains too much, we worry about the stock. The road here isn't the best, so we always hope the delivery trucks don't get a flat tire. It’s a simple life out here in Purandar. We don't have fancy titles. I just tell people I work with nuts. We have a small kettle for tea and we share lunch on the big table. It’s just how we do things every day. Nothing fancy about it. We just stay busy and keep the inventory moving through the gates.
