Rahman Building Materials

We are located at 3608/2 in the Rahman Complex, which is on 5th Street in Santhanatha Puram. This is a family-run place, and we’ve been operating out of this complex for many years now. We sell basic things like cement, steel rods, and other bits and pieces you need for building. The shop is usually full of heavy stuff, so there isn't much room to walk around. 5th Street can be a bit of a nightmare when two big trucks try to pass each other, but we’ve gotten used to the noise and the shouting. We don’t have a fancy showroom. It’s just a practical space with a concrete floor and some metal racks. We spend our days loading materials into small tempos or onto the backs of motorcycles. Our hands are usually rough and calloused from the work. We keep a small television in the corner of the office to catch the news when things are quiet. Santhanatha Puram has changed a lot, with new houses popping up everywhere, which keeps us busy. We don't use any fancy words to describe what we do. We just sell building supplies to our neighbors and the local contractors. Sometimes we have a chat over a glass of water with the regulars. It’s a straightforward life. We open early in the morning and stay until the last customer leaves. It’s just us doing our best in the Rahman Complex.
