M G R Masala

M G R Masala is located at 175, right by the Thanthai Pettai Bus Stop. Being near the bus stop in Alangudi Post means there are always people around. You can usually hear the buses pulling in and out all day long. We deal with masalas, so the air around the shop always has a bit of a kick to it. It’s a small place, and we have lived in this area for years. We spend a lot of our time grinding and mixing. The machines can be pretty loud, so we have to talk over them. It is not the kind of place with a fancy showroom. We just have the bags of spices and the equipment we need. People often stop in while they are waiting for their ride home. We know a lot of the regulars who pass through Alangudi. The building is older, and the paint is peeling a bit near the bottom, but it serves us well. We just keep things running as best as we can. There is always a layer of spice dust on the counters no matter how much we wipe them. It’s hard work, and the days are long, but we like the routine. We don't use any big machines or fancy tech, just what works. It’s just us here at the bus stop, making masala every day.
