St Peters English School

St Peters English School is located over at New No 6, which used to be Old No 77/1 & 1 B & 1 A, on New Street in Gorimedu, Pondicherry. The address is a bit of a mouthful because of the old and new numbering, but most people in the neighborhood know exactly where we are. We are in the 605006 area, right in the thick of things. Pondicherry has its own pace, and we try to follow it. Our school building is an older one, and it has plenty of character, though it comes with the usual old-building problems like squeaky doors and walls that need dusting. We don't have a big corporate team running things. It’s just us, the teachers, and the support staff who keep the place moving. The kids come in from New Street every morning, and the noise level just goes up from there. We spend our days going from one classroom to the next, checking on the lessons and making sure the supplies haven't run out. It is a very hands-on job. Sometimes we have to move things around to make more space for a new project, but we manage. Most of the people working here have been around for years, so we’ve seen a lot of different groups of kids pass through these doors. It’s a simple, local school that fits right into the daily life of Gorimedu.
