Shakthi Brick Works

Shakthi Brick Works is located at No. 1/18 on Murugan Kovil Street in Kaandamangalam. It is a quiet enough street, but you can always hear the activity from the temple nearby. We have been here for a while, making bricks for the people in this area. The process is pretty much the same every day. We get the raw materials, shape the bricks, and let them dry out in the sun. It is a lot of standing around and moving heavy things, which can be tiring when the humidity is high. Kaandamangalam is a nice place, and being on Murugan Kovil Street means we have a lot of neighbors who stop by just to say hello or ask how the work is going. Our yard isn't very large, so we have to stay on top of things or it gets cluttered very quickly. We don't have a big staff, just a few local guys who know the trade well. Sometimes the rain catches us off guard and we have to run out to cover the bricks before they get ruined. It is a constant battle with the weather, but that is part of the job. We don't use any fancy words to describe what we do. We just make bricks and try to keep our customers in the neighborhood happy. It is a simple, honest way to make a living for all of us.
