Kumar Law House

We’ve been around the Bada Chauraha area for quite a while now. Kumar Law House is over at building 328/16 in the Ashok Nagar neighborhood. Most days, we are just here in the shop sorting through stacks of legal texts and making sure the shelves aren't a total mess. People usually stop by when they need something specific for their court work or their law studies. It is a busy spot near the main crossing, so there is always a lot of noise from the street coming inside. We do not have a fancy setup here. It is just rows of books and a few of us trying to keep track of where everything is. Sometimes the delivery guys drop off heavy boxes late in the afternoon, and we have to scramble to find enough space on the floor. If you walk past the big landmark nearby, you will see our sign. We keep the doors open mostly to let some fresh air in during the day. It gets a little dusty with all the old paper around, but that is just how it is with books. We know most of the regulars by their names now. They come in, ask for a new code book or a recent update, and we just point them to the right pile. It isn’t much to look at, but it is what we do every day. We usually have our tea around four, and things slow down a bit then.
