Running a place like Kids Club Pre School And Creche over on Main Road in Rajrooppur is never a dull job. Our address at 10B/2 is usually easy to find because you can hear the kids playing if you’re walking nearby. We started this because we saw a lot of working parents in Allahabad who needed a safe spot for their toddlers while they were at the office. It’s a mix of a school and a daycare, so we have tiny desks but also plenty of mats for naps. The walls are covered in drawings that don’t always look like what they’re supposed to be, but that’s fine. We have a small staff who are good with children, mostly because they have kids of their own. It’s not a high-pressure environment. We spend time on colors, numbers, and just learning how to share toys without a fuss. Sometimes it gets loud, especially around lunchtime or when someone decides they don't want to go home yet. We keep the place clean, though with twenty little ones running around, it’s a constant battle. Parents usually drop by in the morning, give us some quick instructions about snacks or naps, and then head off to work. It’s a neighborhood spot where people trust us to look after their most important people. We don't use big words to describe what we do; we just watch the kids.
