Aniruddha Pratap Singh

I set up my space at 6/3B, Sapru Road, which is in the Civil Lines area of Allahabad. Civil Lines is a bit more spread out and has these wide roads and old buildings. My place is just a simple setup under my own name, Aniruddha Pratap Singh. I don’t call it an academy or anything like that because it’s really just me and a few rooms for teaching. Sapru Road is relatively quiet compared to the main markets, which helps when you’re trying to focus on books. I have some wooden chairs and a couple of tables that have been here since I started. The walls have some damp patches from the last monsoon, but it doesn't really get in the way of anything. I usually spend my time preparing notes or sitting by the window when no one is around. Most of the students who come here are from nearby colonies. They know the house number and just walk in. There isn't a receptionist or anyone like that to greet you. I handle the gate and the lights myself. Sometimes the neighborhood kids play cricket outside, and I have to tell them to move a bit further down so they don't break a window. It’s a very simple, personal way of doing things. I’ve lived in Allahabad for a long time, and staying here in Civil Lines to teach feels like the right thing to do. It's just a regular house turned into a study space.
