Down here in Chintampalle, life moves at its own pace. Our company, Sri Venkata Parasurama Farmers Producer Company Limited, is based at Door No: C-26/3. It’s a small operation in Chintalapudi where we try to help out the local farmers. West Godavari has some good soil, but the work is never easy and the weather is unpredictable. We are just a group of people who decided to pool our resources together. The office is really just a room where we keep our ledgers and some samples. It’s often a bit dusty because of the road right outside the door. We spend our mornings checking the fields and our afternoons here in the village. It’s not a polished corporate setup with computers everywhere. We have a couple of old desks and some benches for people to sit on while they wait to talk to us. Sometimes the heavy rain makes it hard to get anything done, but we just wait it out. We talk about the crops, the water levels, and who is doing what this season. There is a lot of coffee and tea involved in our meetings. We aren't looking for awards or anything like that. We just want to make sure our families and our neighbors can keep doing what they have always done. It’s just us, working together in the heat of the day to make sure the harvest actually counts for something.
