Our company, Chinnaganjam Siri Farmers Producer Company Limited, is based in the village of Sopirala. That’s in the Chinnaganjam area of Prakasam district. We are basically a group of farmers who decided to work together. Our office is at Door No.121-B. It’s not much to look at, but it gets the job done. In this part of Andhra Pradesh, farming is what most people know. We deal with whatever crops are in season and try to figure out the best way to handle the harvest. It’s a lot of talking to neighbors and trying to coordinate things so everyone gets a fair shake. We aren't professionals in suits; we are people who know the soil. Sometimes the rain doesn't come when it should, and that makes things stressful for everyone. We spend our meetings talking about seeds, prices, and how to get our stuff to the markets. It’s a local effort to keep things moving for the farmers here. We don't have any big corporate goals. We just want to make sure the farming community in Sopirala has a way to organize. It’s about the people we’ve known our whole lives. We just stay busy with the work and try to help each other out when the season gets tough. There is always a lot to do, from cleaning the produce to getting the transport ready for the local markets in the district.
