Smart Kids Play School

We've been running Smart Kids Play School for a while now right across from the Rural Police Station here in Kandukur Mandal. It's a busy enough spot and most people around Prakasam district know where the station is, so finding us isn't too hard. The school itself isn't a massive place, just a few rooms where the little ones spend their mornings. We started this because there weren't many places nearby for kids to just be kids before they start real school. You’ll usually hear a lot of noise coming from our gates around nine in the morning when parents are dropping their children off. We have a small yard where they run around and sometimes the dust gets everywhere, but that’s just how it is with kids. The teachers here are mostly local ladies from the mandal who have been with us for years. They know the families and which kid needs a bit more help with their lunch box or their shoes. We don't have fancy buses or anything like that. Most kids just walk over or come on a bike with their dad. It gets quite hot in this part of Prakasam during the summer so we try to keep the rooms cool with fans and big windows. It’s a simple setup but it works for the families living around the police station and the nearby areas. We just go about our day, teaching the basics and making sure everyone is safe. It's just a local school doing its thing.
