Poojitha Dall Mill

Our mill is located at 3/131 on Markapur Road in Thimmayapalem Village. It’s a bit out of the way for some, but for us, it’s exactly where we need to be. The mill is a loud place, full of the sound of machinery and the smell of raw grains. We spend our days processing different types of dall, and there is always a layer of fine dust on everything by the time evening rolls around. It’s hard, physical work, moving heavy sacks and making sure the machines are running correctly. We aren't some high-tech factory; it’s a traditional mill where we do things the way they’ve been done for years. Thimmayapalem is a quiet village for the most part, except for when the trucks come in to load up or drop off supplies. We don't have a fancy office or a website with pretty pictures. We just have the mill on Markapur Road. Most of our time is spent on the floor, checking the quality of the grains or talking to the local farmers who bring their harvest to us. Sometimes the power goes out, or a belt on a machine breaks, and we have to stop everything to fix it ourselves. It’s just the way life is out here. We take pride in the work, even if it leaves us tired and dusty at the end of every day. It’s a simple, honest way to make a living in the village.
