Our place is over in Markapur, specifically at 10-1064-Z-37-C2. It’s a bit of a mouthful of an address, but it’s where we get things done every day in the Prakasam district of Andhra Pradesh. The weather out here can be quite dry, and the sun really beats down on the building by mid-afternoon. We’ve got a steady group of people working here under the L&T name. It’s not a flashy setup. We have our files, our computers, and our tea breaks which everyone looks forward to. The street outside gets quite dusty when the wind picks up, but inside we just focus on the projects at hand. Most of us have lived in this part of the state for years, so we’re used to the way things work around here. We don't have a marketing department writing things for us; it’s just us telling it like it is. Some days are longer than others, especially when there’s a deadline looming or something goes wrong with the equipment. We just fix what needs fixing and keep going. It’s practical work for practical people. Neighbors know us as the quiet lot who stay busy. We don't have many visitors except for the occasional delivery or someone coming in for a meeting. We just keep the door open and stay focused on the tasks that fill our weeks. It’s a simple life but it keeps us moving. The local food here is good, too. We like the nearby hills when it’s clear.
