Our college is located out in Chimakurthy, which is a bit of a drive from the main part of Ongole. It’s a quiet area, mostly surrounded by open land, which is good because it keeps things a bit calmer than the city. The buildings are spread out, and we have several labs where the students spend a lot of their time. These rooms are full of machines and computers that are always running, so it can get quite warm in there even with the fans on. We have a canteen where everyone grabs a bite, and the food is just standard local stuff that gets you through the day. The paths between the buildings are paved, but the grass on the edges grows pretty fast during the rains. We have a lot of young people here who are trying to get their degrees, so you’ll see them carrying heavy files and talking about their projects. The administrative office is usually the busiest place on campus, with a lot of forms and ledgers being moved around. We don’t have those fancy modern lounges you see in magazines. Our benches are made of stone or wood and they are built to last. It’s a lot of work to keep a whole engineering college running, from fixing the plumbing to making sure the internet works for the labs. We just take it day by day and try to keep the place in decent shape for the next set of students.
