Up here in Ongole, our college has been standing for quite a few years. It is located right in the middle of things, so it is easy for students to reach using the local transport. We have a lot of young people coming in from the nearby towns and even the small villages further out. The campus is basically a set of buildings where we hold the classes and do the practical work. We don't have those massive green lawns like you see in movies, but there is enough space for everyone to hang around between their lectures. The staff rooms are usually full of books and tea cups, and we spend a lot of time grading papers or talking about the upcoming exams. Things can get pretty busy around admission time, with parents coming in to ask about the different courses we have. We try to keep the classrooms clean, though the dust from the road outside always finds a way in through the windows. It is a noisy place when the bell rings and everyone rushes out to the street. Most of the people working here have been around for a long time, so we know how to handle the daily routine without much trouble. It is a practical place where we just get on with the business of teaching. We don't make a big fuss about things, just making sure the students get what they need to finish their degrees and find some work later on.
