Bala Tripuraa Sundari Farmers Producer Company Limited

We run the Bala Tripuraa Sundari Farmers Producer Company Limited out of Medapi Village. Our main point of contact is H.No.1-3, which is right in the village here in Tripurantakam Mandal. Being in the Prakasam District, we deal with the climate and the soil types that are specific to this region. We are just a group of neighbors and fellow farmers who decided to pool our resources. There are a lot of us involved, and we meet up at H.No.1-3 to figure out who is growing what and how we are going to get it to market without losing money. Farming in Medapi can be tough when the water is low, so we try to help each other out with irrigation and sharing tools when we can. We named the company after the local tradition and the deity we follow here in the village. It isn't a corporate office with air conditioning; it's just a room in a house where we keep our registers and talk about the harvest. We try to get a fair price for everyone's hard work. Most of us have been farming since we were kids, so we know the land and the seasons pretty well. We don't use big words or have a mission statement. We just want to make sure our families are taken care of and the crops grow well every year. It’s hard work but it’s ours, and we like it.
