Dhanvantri Farmer Producer Company Limited is right here in the village of Kesariya, in the Una taluka of Gir Somnath. This is a rural area and we are rural people. We didn't start this company to get rich or to be famous. We just wanted to find a way for the farmers around Kesariya to get by a bit better. We don't have a fancy office building; we just work from where we are. Our days are filled with the same things that have filled the lives of our fathers and grandfathers—the weather, the soil, and the crops. But now we have this company to help us handle the business side of things. It’s not always easy to understand all the rules and regulations, but we do our best. We aren't polished business people. We have dirt under our fingernails and we talk in plain English. We don't have any big slogans. We just want to make sure that when we work hard in the sun, we actually have something to show for it at the end of the day. Sometimes the rains don't come, and sometimes they come too much, but we stick together. It’s a simple operation based on trust and hard work. We just keep our heads down and focus on the land and the people who live on it. That is how we have always done it here in Kesariya and we don't plan to change. We just keep going.
