Muthu Rathina Arangam Higher School

If you walk down Mariamman Kovil Street in the Thattanchavadi area of Pondicherry, you will see Muthu Rathina Arangam Higher School. It is a local fixture in this part of the city. The school isn't very far from the temple, so we often hear the bells and the general bustle of the street life. We have been operating here for a long time, and many of the parents who bring their kids here actually went to this school themselves back in the day. The building has that classic look with some older sections and some newer parts added on when we needed more room. Inside, the hallways are narrow but they stay cool enough. We have a lot of students packed in, and it gets lively, especially during the morning assembly. Our classrooms have high ceilings and those heavy wooden doors. There is no fancy lobby or anything; you just walk in and you are right there in the middle of it. The staff is mostly locals who know the neighborhood inside and out. We focus on the daily lessons and making sure everyone stays on track with their studies. It is a busy place, especially when school lets out and the street gets full of bicycles and parents waiting on their scooters. It’s just our way of life here in Thattanchavadi, keeping things simple and steady.
