Hotel Nisha

You can find us over on Vazhudhavoor Road in the Kurumbapet area of Pondicherry. It is a bit away from the main tourist beaches, which makes it a quieter part of town. We run Hotel Nisha as a straightforward place for people who need a stay without all the expensive frills. The neighborhood is mostly local houses and small shops. We don't have a big lobby or a pool. It’s just a building with rooms and a small desk where we sit. Our staff is small, usually just a couple of us taking turns to stay awake and help guests. We spend our mornings checking the water and making sure the linens are sent out for washing. It is very simple work. Pondicherry can get very hot, so we make sure the fans are working well. We don't use any fancy marketing. Most people find us because they are working nearby or they know someone in the area. We talk to our guests like neighbors. If the gate squeaks, we oil it. If someone needs a taxi, we call the guy we know down the street. It’s just a regular local business. We aren't trying to change the world; we just want to provide a decent room for a fair price. It’s a quiet life here on Vazhudhavoor Road, and we like it that way. No fuss, just a place to stay.
