Happy Kids Montessori Academy

Down on Kamaraj Street in Kathirkamam, you’ll find our little academy at number 30. It’s a quiet enough part of Pondicherry most days, though the street gets some traffic now and then. We’ve set up the rooms with those low shelves and wooden toys you see in Montessori places. The kids spend their mornings moving things around and working on their own. It’s not a big corporate operation, just a local spot for parents in the area to drop off their toddlers. We spend a lot of our time tidying up small pieces of wood and wiping down tables after snack time. The floor usually has some crayon marks on it by Friday afternoon, but we scrub them off. We don’t use a lot of big words or complicated rules here. The garden outside is small, but the kids like the grass. Our staff mostly live nearby, so we walk or bike to work. Sometimes the humidity in Pondicherry makes the wooden blocks swell a bit, but we make it work. It’s a simple building with bright walls. We try to keep the noise down for the neighbors, though children will be children. Most of what we do is just watching them learn how to tie their shoes or pour water without spilling. It is just a regular day-to-day life here on Kamaraj Street.
