We are based at 70/2 on Palghat Road in Pollachi. If you know this area, you know it’s all about the coconuts. Pollachi Coconut Producer Company is basically a hub for the local growers. The office is right off the road, so we see all the trucks loaded high with husks driving past. It’s a busy place, especially in the mornings when everyone is bringing in their reports or checking on the prices. The air always smells a bit like dry earth and coconut fibre. We spend our time talking to the farmers and managing the production side of things. It’s very practical work. We don't have any of those fancy modern office chairs; we just use what’s sturdy. The fans are always humming to keep the heat away. Sometimes we just sit out front for a minute to watch the traffic on Palghat Road. It’s a community thing here. Everyone knows who is growing what. We handle the business side—the sales, the distribution, and making sure the producers get a fair shake. It gets a bit hectic when the harvest is big, and we end up staying late to finish the books. We don't use big words or fancy strategies. We just focus on the trees and the nuts they produce. That’s just how life is for us here.
