Opal Biotech

Our office is on the first floor of Vasanth Plaza on Gandhi Mandapam Street. It’s No. 19/a, and you have to walk up the stairs since it's an older building. Being in the biotech field sounds very fancy, but for us, it’s a lot of paperwork and looking at samples. We aren't wearing lab coats all day or doing anything like you'd see on TV. Mostly, we are just managing the supplies and talking to the people who need them. The street outside is always noisy with traffic, which you can hear even from the first floor. We’ve got a couple of desks and some storage cabinets for our materials. It’s a bit cramped, especially when we get new stock in, but we make it work. We’ve been at this location for some time now and the neighbors in the other offices are friendly enough. We don't have a big mission statement on the wall or anything like that. We just come in, do what needs to be done for the day, and then lock up and go home. It’s a job like any other, really. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to wait it out, just like everyone else on the street. It’s just Opal Biotech, sitting there in the plaza, doing our bit in the local biotech scene. We don't try to be anything we aren't, just people working in a specific field in a regular part of town. It gets quiet in the evenings.
