Krashi Sewa Kendra

Krashi Sewa Kendra is out in Pisangan at the Gangouri Chowk. This is where the farmers come when they are looking for things for their fields. We have bags of seeds and different kinds of fertilizers stacked up near the entrance. The floor is usually covered in a bit of dirt because of the boots coming in from the farms. Gangouri Chowk is a central point for the village, so we see a lot of people every day. We don't have a computer system, just a thick diary where we write down the sales. The sun can be very strong in Pisangan, so we have a tin roof that gets quite hot in the middle of the day. We keep a pot of cool water in the corner for anyone who is thirsty. Most of the conversation in the shop is about the weather and the crops. If the rains are late, things get a bit worried around here. We have been at this spot in Gangouri Chowk for a long time. It is a simple place with whitewashed walls and a few old calendars hanging up. Krashi Sewa Kendra is just a part of the daily routine for the local growers. We load the heavy bags onto the tractors or carts parked outside. It is hard work but it is what we do here in Pisangan. We close up a bit early during the harvest season when everyone is busy in the fields. It stays quiet then.
