Sirohi Shilp Kaa Kendra

We are set up in the Industrial Area near the petrol pump on National Highway No. 14. It’s a bit of a drive out on Sirohi Road, but we’ve been here for a while now. Most of our work happens in the back where it’s a bit noisy. We have a few rooms where we keep the finished crafts. Being near the highway means we get a lot of people just passing through who need a break from driving. The building is plain, just concrete and some tin roofing. It gets pretty hot out here during the day, so we start work early in the morning when it's still cool. We don't have a big marketing team or anything like that. It's just a few of us making things by hand. Sometimes the trucks going by make the whole place shake a little. We have piles of raw materials sitting out front near the entrance. It's a practical space, not a showroom for tourists, though people are welcome to look around. We use local materials mostly. The shop isn't always perfectly tidy because there is always a project going on. We eat our lunch together under the shade of the trees outside. If you're driving towards Sirohi and need to stretch your legs, you'll see our sign by the road. We just keep doing our work every day and hope the pieces we make find a good home. It is a quiet life out here.
