Enviro Green Farmer Producer Company Limited is a local group set up here in Bisalpur. You can find us at Rajandra Kumar’s place over at 1 Dugra Parsad. We are basically a bunch of farmers who decided to pool our resources together. It is hard for a single farmer to get good prices or buy equipment so we formed this company to help everyone out. We focus on being green and taking care of the environment while we grow our crops. It is not just about making money but also making sure the land stays good for a long time. Rajandra helps with the management and the paperwork since he has the space for us to meet. We sit around and talk about what we are going to plant and how the market is looking. It is very informal and we all know each other well. Sometimes the meetings go on for a long time because everyone has an opinion. We are just trying to make farming a bit more stable for the families in this area. Bisalpur has good soil but you have to treat it right. We share our knowledge and help each other when someone is having a tough time with their crops. It is a community effort more than anything else. We don't have a big marketing budget or anything. We just work. Most of us have been doing this since we were kids, so it is just a way of life that we are trying to improve together.
